Introduction
My grant proposal writing, editing and consulting services are designed to aid researchers in the humanities, social sciences, and related fields, as well as individuals who apply for funding on behalf of various organizations, including foundations and associations. I extend my support to institutions, such as universities, that offer financial assistance to their employees during the challenging grant application process, as successful proposals ultimately benefit the entire institution.
What I offer
My writing, editing and consulting services are tailored to meet the diverse needs of grant applicants. I begin the process with a preliminary conversation to understand the project's scope and objectives. Throughout our collaboration, I remain flexible, allowing adjustments to be made as needed. My pricing is based on hourly rates, providing authors with the freedom to decide the level of assistance required at any stage.
Possible models of cooperation
Model 1: Co-writing
In this model, the process begins with a review of the application guidelines, followed by in-person or online discussions with the author to understand the project fully. Based on the gathered information, I craft the first draft of the proposal. Subsequent meetings allow for the development of specific sections and the addition of necessary details. Once this phase is complete, I independently refine the final version, incorporating any agreed-upon modifications*. This model is useful for those with preference for oral communication.
Model 2: Interactive co-editing
In this model, I review the application guidelines and text**, identifying areas that require discussion and potential changes. Most of the editing and consulting occurs during one-on-one meetings, either in person or online. This collaborative editing approach can be referred to as co-editing, which sets it apart from traditional editing methods, as it proves to be more efficient and time-saving. Furthermore, it grants the author continuous control over the content, ensuring a harmonious and coherent final draft. Once the co-editing phase is complete, I independently polish the final version, incorporating any agreed-upon modifications*.
Model 3: Written opinion and discussion
Under this option, I familiarize myself with the application guidelines and proposal text, providing a preliminary written opinion with specific examples. I then meet with the author to discuss potential changes and address any queries. Interactive co-editing of selected passages is another possibility. The author can then decide to make further corrections independently or, if needed, continue collaborating with me for more comprehensive editing and consulting.
Pricing
23 Euro (approx. 100 zloty)/hour + 23% VAT
Please note:
* If polishing the final version exceeds 8 hours, no additional charges will apply.
** If reviewing application guidelines and text exceeds 6 hours, no additional charges will apply.
Example project
As an illustration, exhaustive interactive co-editing (Model 2) for a real-life extensive application to the European Research Council (ERC) took approximately 35 hours. The hourly pricing allows for personalized solutions tailored to each specific case, granting the author control over the scope of the cooperation which may be limited or even suspended at any time.
